Historia zaczyna sie w Polsce, gdzie 4-letnia dziewczynka znika z jednego z tutejszych miasteczek. Jej matka, nie mogac uzyskac pomocy miejscowej policji, samodzielnie rozpoczyna dochodzenie. Wkrótce odkrywa, ze jej córka zostala porwana przez rosyjska mafie. Kiedy kobieta pedzi w strone przejscia granicznego, próbujac uratowac swoje dziecko, za przekroczenie predkosci zatrzymuje ja policjant Robert Goc. Interwencja policji opóznia poscig i dziecko zostaje uprowadzone za wschodnia granice. Wkrótce Robert, który czuje sie winny, ze nie byl w stanie powstrzymac porywaczy, zostaje zaangazowany w miedzynarodowe sledztwo majace na celu znalezienie dziewczyny.

Handel ludzmi to najbardziej dynamicznie rozwijajaca sie galaz przestepczosci we wspólczesnym swiecie. Kazdego roku 1,5 miliona dzieci jest sprzedawanych w celu wykorzystywania seksualnego, zebractwa, handlu organami lub rytualów. „Small World” jest wlasnie o jednym z takich dzieci. Scenariusz powstal na podstawie dokumentacji.

Patryk Vega, rezyser, chce aby ten film byl „krzykiem”, w którym aktorzy z róznych krajów moga zjednoczyc sie przeciwko handlowi dziecmi na calym swiecie. Chcialby jednak podkreslic, ze dla niego bardzo wazne jest, aby nie pokazywac bezposrednich, brutalnych obrazów maltretowanych dzieci.

Human trafficking is the most dynamically developing branch of crime in today’s world. Every year, 1,5 million children are sold for sexual exploitation, begging, organ trade or rituals. “Small world” is about one of such children. The script was made based on documentation.
Patryk Vega, the director, wants this movie to be a “post scream”, where actors from different countries can unite against children trafficking around the world. However, he would like to underline that for him, it is very important not to show the direct brutal images of children who are being mistreated.

The story begins in Poland, where a 4-year-old girl disappears from one of local towns. Her mother soon discovers that Russian mafia kidnapped her daughter. When woman rushes towards a border crossing, trying to save her child, she is stopped for speeding by a policeman, Robert Goc. The police intervention delays the chase, and the child is abducted behind the eastern border. Soon Robert, who feels guilty that he was not able to stop the hijackers, becomes engaged in an international investigation to find a girl.

The trail leading to the abducted Ola appears a few years later in Russia. As a result of accidental exposure of one of the pedophiles, Russian man raising five children on his own, Robert comes to Russia, but the suspect is released. Robert follows the suspect, but again he arrives too late - the Russian sells children to a criminal group from Moldova.

The next trial leads Robert to UK. After the tragic death of one of the underage girls, the policeman runs into the trail leading to one of the British apartments. He finds there a photographer and a mysterious young girl Candy, as it later turns out Ola, which he is looking for. The girl escapes and the detained photographer is released thanks to the intervention of the influential artist Jasmina. Robert feels that the law is helpless. After taking the investigation into his hands, he finally goes to a mysterious party, a dark masquerade, where small children are used for occult rituals. Robert is unmasked during the event and Candy is taken away from him and sold again - this time to Asia.

For the next 4 years Robert looks for the girl in Thailand. The girl abducted from Poland is in the relationship with John, the man who bought her from the UK. Robert finds Candy but she does not want to come back to Poland. The situation changes when the girl becomes pregnant and refuses to perform an abortion, which John forces her to do. Robert helps the girl hide, and then arranges her passport at the Polish embassy and a ticket to Poland. The girl returns happily to her country after 12 years, while Robert decides to finish the case in the UK. He goes to a mysterious masquerade again, overpowers security guards and starts firing a machine gun at people. Then he frees tens of children and releases them outside the house, where police are taking care of them.
